Les canicules qui se sont abattues sur notre région cet été ont montré l'importance de disposer de lieux permettant au plus grand nombre de se rafraîchir.

Les piscines sont devenues des lieux essentiels pour de nombreux·ses Lausannois·es. Elles permettent de se rafraîchir tout en restant à l'extérieur et de profiter des bienfaits d'une activité physique douce, particulièrement appréciable lors des périodes de fortes chaleurs.

Si les piscines ont enregistré des pics de fréquentation cet été, de nombreuses personnes n'ont toutefois pas pu en profiter pour des raisons financières. Pour une famille de quatre personnes, une entrée à la piscine coûte 18 francs (6 francs par adulte et 3 francs par enfant), un montant qui peut constituer un frein important pour les familles aux revenus modestes.

Les quatre piscines dites « de quartier » sont certes déjà gratuites, mais leur capacité limitée ne leur permet pas, à elles seules, de répondre à la forte demande lors des épisodes de canicule.
